Notes
There are many ways
in which this project could be developed and extended.
- The RBA
package could be much improved.
- Beyond that, there is a real need to replace the control files by at
least scripts
or, better yet applications.
- A list in which people could be discussing relevant matters
would be very nice
- Possibly even a "forge" to facilitate collaboration.
- The packages could be translated in other languages.
- The sequence need not end with Lagrange
Differential Calculus and could be extended in at least
three directions (see Derivatives
or Differentials, Post Cauchy DC,
DC
via Polynomial Approximations):
- And then this site could be improved quite a lot …
I would be more than happy to
collaborate in any way, from just discussing anything on this
site—this is another place where a forum would be nice—all the way to
co-authoring any of the titles currently in preparation. (Incidentally, the
GNU Free
Documentation License
(FDL) ensures that any collaboration would necessarily be
quite
amicable since, at any moment, collaborators can stop collaborating and
each publish their own separate versions.)
For
those who do not know LaTeX, the
learning curve for LaTeX is rather steep, at least initially even if,
eventually, it appears quite obvious—well not always and my own painful
and laborious
efforts are reflected in the acknowledgments.
But mathematicians should be used to this type of situation and the
resulting typographical results are worthwhile. And, a non-proprietary
medium for the source is required by the copyleft.
